Professional Experiences

Foosackly's Chicken Fingers Auburn, AL My time from 2019 to late 2020 at Foosackly's was spent learning how to better my customer service skills. I worked in the Back Of House washing dishes, as well as working the line and plating food. I progressed over the year and started working the fries and toast station, where I would drop baskets of fries & have to estimate how many orders were needed, based on the cars in the drive-thru. I worked through this same process when making pieces of toast on the flat-top grill.

The Depot Auburn, AL I worked at The Depot in downtown Auburn from November 2020 until May 2022 , and it was truly a once in a lifetime experience. I have thoroughly enjoyed learning under some of the best chefs in the Southeast! Chef Scott Simpson is so creative with his presentation of sustainable seafood and local Alabama side items. I started out as the Provisions Chef. In this position, I was an aid in prepping all items that will be sold at our Thursday Provisions Market. The Market served as a place for customers to order items from our menu, and make them at home. After a few months, I began to do general prep for dinner service, working around 2-3 days a week with classes. Once the prep list had been ccompleted, I would assist the dishwasher with the three compartment sink, as well as drying & putting away all dishes. At my one year mark, I realized that I wanted more- I had a goal to learn every department in the restaurant. Over the past 6 months, I can say with confidence that I am well on my way to learning the entire restaurant. I have been trained as a Server Assistant, which helps keep the dining room clean/reset, as well as carries food to tables & the correct seat number. I am also trained on the Host stand and my most recent addition, Bar Back. Learning all of these positions has not only allowed me to have more hours, but it has given me expansive knowledge of how each department interacts with each other.

Russell Medical Center Alexander City, AL January 2023 I began the journey at Russell Medical Center in January of 2023 as a Cook #10. This position is essentially the hands of the kitchen- whoever needs extra help, I was there to assist. I served in this position from January until my graduation in May.
